[ICMP / Ping ] ttl 값을 통해 운영체제 확인

TTL is a timer value included in packets sent over TCP/IP-based networks that tells the recipients how long to hold or use the packet or any of its included data before expiring and discarding the packet or data.

Folloing are the list of Devices / Operating system with Default TTL values


타임 투 리브(Time to live, TTL)는 컴퓨터나 네트워크에서 데이터가 유효한 기간을 나타내기 위한 방법이기도 하지만 TTL 값을 통하여 상대 장비의 운영체제(OS)를 구별 가능 하게 됩니다.


Linux = 64

Windows = 128

Cisco = 256


기본적으로 ICMP 의 Ping의 TTL 값은 홉 카운트(Hop Count) 값을 보여 주기 때문에


만약 43이라는 TTL 값이 나오게 된다면 tracert 명령어를 통해 경로추적을 하여 나온 값을 계산하신다면

대략적인 상대 IP 주소를 가진 장비의 OS를 구별할 수 있게됩니다.
